  • Is TechBridgeWorld a non-profit?
    Yes! Our research group is a part of Carnegie Mellon University’s 501(c)(3) status. Carnegie Mellon University is a corporate, non-profit, educational institution.

  • Are my donations tax-deductible?
    If you pay taxes in the United States, your contribution is tax deductible and Carnegie Mellon’s University Advancement team can provide you with documentation for tax purposes. In the United States, gifts made between January 1 and December 31, 2013 are tax deductible for the 2013 tax year.

  • How does Carnegie Mellon University's online giving system work?
    We are happy to respond to any questions about making a gift through Carnegie Mellon Univeristy's online giving system. Click here to see some screenshots showing how this system works (with the Robotics Institute as an example).
  • How can my donation to TechBridgeWorld be matched by my company? Your gift may be doubled or more if you work for a company with a matching gift program! Please be sure to indicate that you are interested in having your company match your gift during the donation process (this is an option in the form on Carnegie Mellon's online giving system). Typically you will need to initiate and file paperwork with your employer to request such a matching gift. Be sure to specify on your paperwork that it is designated to TechBridgeWorld at Carnegie Mellon University. If you have a spouse or partner please mark your gift to TechBridgeWorld as a joint gift with them so that possible matching gift opportunities can be checked with their employer as well.

  • If I am a Carnegie Mellon University student or alum,
    does my donation count for Loyal Scot?

    Yes! When Carnegie Mellon students and alumni give to TechBridgeWorld, their gift also helps them meet one of the requirements for being a part of the Loyal Scot Program

  • If I am a Carnegie Mellon University employee,
    can I give to TechBridgeWorld via payroll deduction?

    Yes! Payroll deduction is a popular option for Carnegie Mellon faculty and staff to give to TechBridgeWorld. When Carnegie Mellon faculty and staff give to TechBridgeWorld, their gift also supports the university’s faculty and staff annual giving goals.

  • Are you looking for people to volunteer their time?
    Many people have supported TechBridgeWorld not only with financial contributions, but also as volunteers for events, assisting with our fundraising efforts, or helping to brainstorm partnership opportunities. In addition, we have had very limited opportunities for volunteers to be involved in technical development and website support. We are not currently seeking volunteers for specific areas, however if you are interested in volunteering, please contact us by providing your resume, contact details, and an explanation of how you are specifically interested in supporting our work.
