The Automated Braille Writing Tutor project explores the role that technology can play in improving braille literacy among visually impaired individuals around the world.

Students and faculty at Carnegie Mellon University (at both the Pittsburgh and Doha campuses) have focused on design, development, implementation, and research related to creating and field testing a low-cost braille writing tutor based on the traditional slate and stylus.
